The gallery was founded at Piazza del Duomo and Piazza della Scala in Milan in 1877 in the time of King Vittorio Emmanuele II and is one of the oldest and most beautiful shopping galleries in the world. Italian department store La Rinascente was founded in 1877 under the name Magazzini Bocconi by brothers Luigi and Ferdinando Bocconi from Milan. Recently it received the prestigious award 'Best Department Store In The World 2016'.
